Traditional Cabin Fare...a compilation of favourite boating recipes are featured in this title from the 'Salmon Favourite Recipe' series. Cover illustrations may vary according to the print run. Mine has ‘Cropedy Lock, Oxford Canal’, on the front and ‘Autumn Sunrise on the Cut’, on the back. ooOoo From the back cover: 'Cas Best has had a lifelong interest in cooking. The family own their own narrow boat and have developed a great interest in the inland waterways which has helped to inspire this book. The recipes reflect the unsophisticated and traditional way of cooking on board in the limited space available.' ooOoo Measuring around 16.75 cm x 11.75 cm, this little paperback has 48 shiny pages, covering 34 recipes. It opens with an alphabetical list of the recipes contained within (1st image below refers). Each recipe opens with the title, an opening note, the list/s of ingredients and the method. Along with charming little black & white illustrations dotted around, the book is interspersed with full colour paintings by Alan Firth, my particular favourite being 'At Stoke Bruerne, Grand Union Canal, on page 16, alongside a tasty recipe for 'LOCK-KEEPER’S CASSEROLE’.
